Dr. Vidhya Ramaswamy

Dr.Vidhya Ramaswamy, dynamic, visionary, full set with spirit to achieve goals, is a native of Kerala, Trivandrum, India. She is a world renowned Molecular Biologist, procured Post Graduate and Ph.D Degree from the University of Kerala, Kerala, India from 1998 and 2002 respectively. She secured State Ranks for her marvelous performance in the SSLC, UG and PG Degree Courses. She has more than ten years of research experience in Biomedical, Genomics and Proteomics and Gene expression Analysis. She started her career as Research Associate in Major Research Projects funded by Department of Science and Technology and Department of Biotechnology, Government of India in 1998 and 1999 respectively. She worked as Assistant Professor in Department of Industrial Biotechnology in Karpagam Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, from 2003-2005. She has received many International Funded Projects from Malteser, Germany, International Foundation for Science, Sweden, United Grants Commission, New Delhi, India, to her credit. She was been honoured with the Young Scientist Award from Government of India in 2002. From 2005-2007, she was heading the Research Wing of International Centre for Bioresources Management (ICBM) as Director, supervising M Phil and Ph.D candidates in Microbiology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology affiliated to Five National Universities in India. She has won many International Awards, Fellowships, Grants and Honours, excelling in her contributions to science. She has conducted several International Conferences, Seminars, Symposia and Workshops of World Recognition. She has 153 International Publications, five books authored and Seven International Funded Research Projects to her credit. Recently she has been endowed with Fellow Awards from International Society of Biotechnology and International Congress on Chemistry and Environment. She has also represented India for many renowned conferences and Seminars in several foreign countries witnessed with Nobel Laureates as Special Speakers. As a World Recognition, her Biography has been selected for publishing in the Marquis Who’s Who in the World and in Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare which is scheduled for publication in August 2009. At present, she is the Director of Yeshwant Advanced Centre for Bioinformatics and Biotechnology, Maharashtra, India and Honorary Director of International Centre for Intellectual Training and Empowerment (INCITE), Kerala.
